Starry Night by Debbie Macomber

Starry Night: A Christmas NovelStarry Night: A Christmas Novel by Debbie Macomber

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I adore me some Christmas stories, they’re quite often cheesy, soppy, everyone ends up happily ever after and they are make your teeth hurt sweet, but that’s why I like reading them.  And it’s no different with Starry Night Debbie Macomber.  Overall it was a win for me - I would’ve liked for the story to be a little longer; but if we’re lucky there may be more to come from Cassie and Finn.

Macomber has a number of series, which you can read as standalone, but for obvious reasons are more enjoyable as a series.  So it made a nice change to be able to read this book without having read another story.  I like both the characters, (I was imagining Henry Cavill at the start of Superman as Finn – how could you not! – with Finn being all manly and furry…there was swoonage ladies).  Cassie, while she enjoys her job, wishes for something more from it, she’s family orientated, which shows in the story and is another thing that shows through in Macomber’s novels – family is important, both to her and her readers.
